Electronex expected to draw the crowds
More than 120 exhibitors are expected to draw the crowds to the second Electronex exhibition that this year moves from Sydney to Melbourne.
Being held at the Melbourne Park Function Centre, which is alongside the Rod Laver Tennis Arena, Electronex 2011, from 14 to 15 September, will be staged concurrently with the SMCBA design and manufacturing conference. Delegates from Australia and overseas are expected to attend to hear keynote international speakers and join Australian experts to deliver information on the latest directions of the electronics market.
On Wednesday the conference opens with a one-day workshop on 'High Reliability Lead Free Assembly and Test' by Matt Kelly from IBM.
Also on that day are two more workshops: one on 'Engineering Principles for the Non Degreed Engineer and Designer' with Doug Brooks of Ultracad and the other on 'Board Layout for SI and EMI' with Susy Webb from Fairfield Nodal.
At 5.30 pm there is a conference reception.
On Thursday a one-day workshop, 'Counterfeit Component Detection and Prevention', will be run by Rick Stanton, Supplier Quality Engineer US. Susy Webb will present a half-day workshop on 'The Science of PCB Stackups' and Master IPC trainer Terry Clitheroe will hold a practical full-day event on 'High Reliability Hand Soldering Reworks and Repair'.
There will also be several short presentations, details of which will be announced closer to the event.
