What is claimed to be the largest and most significant ICT and Electronics event in Vietnam, Vietnam International Communications Summit & Expo 2009 (Vietnam Comm 2009)/International Exhibition on Electronics Products in Vietnam 2009 (Vietnam Electronics 2009) will be staged in the Vietnam Exhibition & Fair Centre, Hanoi from 18–21 November 2009.

In 2008, the IT and telecom businesses in Vietnam achieved a high revenue of $6.5 billion, a 38% increase over 2007. With the expected number of 3G licences in 2009, Vietnam is the telecom market with expected turnover of about $9 billion in 2010.

The number of mobile subscribers and internet users in Vietnam increased to 80 million and 20.7 million in 2008.

The 6.23% increase in GDP, the strong FDI of US$64 billion and the outstanding import/export growth also contributed to the fast growing economy and the urge for quicker adoption of more advanced communication technologies and electrical/electronics equipment in Vietnam.
