Electronics and ICT industry associations merge

Wednesday, 17 September, 2008

The ICT Council and Electronic Industry Association (EIA) have merged into one organisation called the Electronics and ICT Association (EICTA).

Steve Adcock, EICTA CEO, said that the electronics and ICT industries complement each other and collectively have a lot more clout.

“Many people don’t realise that there are more than 400 electronics companies in South Australia and about 1200 ICT companies. That equates to more than 30,000 people employed in these companies,” Adcock said.

Adcock added that EICTA had received a $275,000 grant from the state government and aims to ensure that industry bears the benefit of this grant.
