EMR Compliance Self-Assessment Trial

Friday, 17 November, 2000

The ACA is conducting a voluntary trials of materials for self-assessing electromagnetic radiation (EMR) compliance.

The trial will assess the effectiveness of the self-help guidelines by obtaining feedback from the licensees, which will enable the ACA to fine-tune the materials.

The trial will also provide licensees with the opportunity to bring their installations into compliance before the arrangements are fully implemented.

The self-assement materials include charts and graphs that will allow trialing of the following radiocommunications services:

  • Low power TV and radio broadcasts
  • Paging
  • Land mobile
  • Fixed links

The self-assessment materials will be available for trial until 31st December 2000.

Licensees using the materials will be requested to return an evaluation questionnaire to the ACA.

Participants will also be offered a free validation of their assessment through measurement by the ACA.

Licensees wishing to take part in the trial may use an apllication form on the ACMA website or by phoning the ACA on 02 6256 5552.
