Thursday, 01 August, 2013

Businesses in New South Wales have an opportunity to demonstrate how they are helping to build value and improve efficiency and productivity in mining at the 2013 NSW Mining Suppliers Awards in October.

“Mining in NSW cannot happen without the hundreds of firms that supply the minerals industry, from legal and accounting services to equipment and machinery manufacturers, labour hire, transport, engineering and construction,” said NSW Minerals Council CEO Stephen Galilee.

Entries for the awards close Friday 16 August. Winners will be announced at a gala dinner on 24 October in Sydney in the following categories: professional services; manufacturing and engineering; mining technology; small business supplier.

“There are many great success stories, from companies that started in backyards now employing hundreds of people, right through to the big services, transport and technology companies working with mining companies in NSW and also exporting their products and expertise overseas. These hard-working people and world-class companies deserve our public recognition and thanks,” said Galilee.

“This is a great opportunity for companies to showcase their services and technological advancements in front of new audiences, markets and networks at our awards night in Sydney and we encourage anyone in the supply chain to enter.”

All companies supplying NSW mining producers and exploration companies are eligible to enter and can do so by completing the form available here. NSW-based companies based providing services to the Australian minerals sector are also eligible. Companies can enter multiple categories and multiple times in a single category.
