Wednesday, 20 October, 2010

Farnell has given about $20,000 worth of electronics products to the University of NSW to assist the university’s electrical and electronics engineering program.

Almost 500 different products, totalling nearly 24,000 parts, were provided at the university’s Welcome Back Day. Items donated include resistors, connectors, ICs, capacitors, test and measurement and other miscellaneous products.

In addition to the donation, the company introduced students to its element14 internet forum to help them collaborate and share ideas with their peers across the world. The forum is designed for electronic design engineers to provide news on product data, design tools and technology information, while incorporating web 2.0 functionality to facilitate communication, interaction, collaboration and information sharing between colleagues worldwide.

Users can consult experts, discover trends, and post blogs, articles and comments on the site.
