Schaffner has bought Betec-Engineering, specialists in developing and distributing active harmonic filters.

The filters are used in modern power networks and in certain cases can also contribute to cheaper electricity.

As part of the integration, Schaffner has started producing active harmonic filters at its plant in Shanghai.
