Infographic: power adapter regulations
Power electronics manufacturer CUI has developed an infographic to help keep OEMs up to date with the rapidly changing regulatory environment for power supplies.
The company noted that when the US Department of Energy (DoE) implemented its Level VI standard in February 2016, most OEMs were forced to update their designs to meet these requirements. Now with even stricter regulations proposed to become law in the EU in 2018, companies that ship an external power adapter with their end product must yet again closely monitor the regulatory environment to ensure that they are in compliance.
CUI’s infographic intends to simplify the where, when and what of the current US DoE Level VI standard and the upcoming EU CoC Tier 2 regulations. It can be viewed below or downloaded from http://download.publitek.com/CUI084(A)DoE-vs-CoC-Regulations.jpg.
