Thursday, 27 March, 2014

M2M Connectivity has been appointed the authorised distributor of Libelium wireless sensor network products in Australia and New Zealand.

Libelium is a Spanish Internet of Things (IoT) platform provider that exports its sensor network technology for smart cities, smart homes and smart farming to 75 countries. M2M Connectivity now offers Libelium sensor networks products - Waspmote, Plug & Sense! and Meshlium - hardware, platform and sensors to the Australian and New Zealand market.

Libelium’s Waspmote platform for developers and system integrators and the ready-to-use Plug and Sense! are both offered with a choice of ZigBee, 802.15.4, Wi-Fi or 3G/GPRS technologies. These wireless interfaces can be used solely or in a combination of two by using the Expansion Radio Board. Over 60 sensors are available for use with Waspmote and Plug & Sense! to enable the monitoring of environmental factors for gases, moisture, presence, humidity, temperature, vehicle detection, radiation, current, liquid, luminosity and more. Libelium’s Meshlium easily connects the sensors to the cloud and features smartphone, cellular, mobile and hand phone detection to measure people and cars for the monitoring of shopping and street activity and vehicle traffic.

“We are excited to be partners with Libelium to supply their quality sensor networks in Australia and New Zealand,” said Darren Moroney, general manager of M2M Connectivity. “The Libelium sensor devices for developers and quick-install sensor networks offer users the potential to unlock new revenue opportunities and inspire new business processes and strategies through the implementation of IoT applications.”
