Engineer, entrepreneur and Sydney Engineering Excellence Award winner Matt Barrie, CEO of Freelancer.com, will launch Australian Engineering Week at the Harricks Address, sponsored by the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET).

Stimulating the crowd of engineering professionals, Barrie will talk on the future of business in the digital revolution and how this opportunity can be utilised by the engineering industry.

Australian Engineering Week, 4-10 August 2014, highlights the impact engineering has on our communities and recognises the contribution its dedicated professionals make to our lives and the world around us every day via a week-long series of events ranging from site tours to seminars, and career talks to trivia.

Steve Finlay, general manager, Engineers Australia Sydney Division, says the Harricks Address is a significant opening to Australian Engineering Week and, with such a highly experienced and acclaimed host, promises to be a must-attend event.

Finlay urges the engineering business community to be part of this discussion that will cover real examples of Matt Barrie’s vast experiences throughout his career as one of Australia’s leading technology entrepreneurs.
