Exports of locally designed ADSLs by NEC Australia have gone over the one million mark.

Sales only began in mid 1999, and Brendan McManus, NEC Australia executive director, said "The majority of our broadband exports have been to the Asia Pacific region. We are expecting to strengthen our market share in these areas in the next two years, with broadband exports growing to $60 million in the next 12 months."

NEC Australia develops and designs its DSL broadband products at its Technology Centre in Melbourne.
