Thursday, 12 November, 2009

In the second quarter of 2009 the value of the total notebook PC market was $30.0 billion, up 10% but down 5% over the year, according to a new report by DisplaySearch.

Gains in the mini-note (netbook) market were particularly strong, with revenue up 37% and over the last year 364%.

For larger notebook PCs, revenue in every category was down and only the portable category (those with displays from 13 to 16″) posted growth.

The strong growth of mini-notes drove down their revenue share of the portable computer market to 11.7%.
