Renesas announces new representative director, president and CEO
Semiconductor supplier Renesas Electronics has announced changes to its representative directors, in line with the company’s new growth strategy to thrive in the global marketplace.
At a meeting of the board of directors held on 15 April, it was decided that Renesas required a leader possessing abundant knowledge and experience in global operation. A decision was therefore made to appoint a new representative director, president and CEO, subject to approval at the upcoming ordinary general shareholders’ meeting and by the board of directors.
Tetsuya Tsurumaru, representative director, president and CEO of Renesas, will become representative director and chairman of the company. His previous title will be inherited by Bunsei Kure, currently executive adviser to the CEO.
The nomination of Kure as a member of the board is planned to be approved at an ordinary general shareholders’ meeting scheduled for June. The new member of the board will then be officially appointed as representative director at a meeting of the board of directors held soon afterwards.
