Robotdalen is Sweden’s foremost robotics cluster; an initiative enabling commercial success of new ideas and research within robotics and automation. Robotdalen has arranged the Robotics Innovation Challenge, to be held in Eskilstuna, Sweden, on 25 April 2013. The event aims to repeat this year’s successes by bringing people from all over the world together for a day about opportunities and challenges for successful commercialisation of robot innovations, presenting a number of interesting solutions.

Internationally renowned speakers, presentations of new robot solutions at an innovation catwalk, a prize ceremony for the international competition Robotdalen Innovation Award, matchmaking for the manufacturing industry and vast possibilities to meet new interesting business associates are all components of the event.

Robotdalen is Sweden’s only robotics cluster and has an impressive track record of initiatives for successful commercialisation of new products and companies. Efforts include enabling more investments in the manufacturing industry; increased quality of life and independence through new technology in the healthcare and elderly care sector; and improved working environment through autonomous vehicles and service robots. There is an enormous force of innovation and potential for new solutions, which is the basis for the Robotics Innovation Challenge.

“We want the international robotics sphere to discover the opportunities of cooperating with Robotdalen when it comes to new robot innovations,” said Lennart Karlsson, Internationalization Manager.

A program, registration form and further information about the event will be published on www.robotdalen.se/RIC2013 in January. The deadline for the Robotdalen Innovation Award is 13 January 2013.
