Rosenberger signs distribution deal with RS Components and Allied

Wednesday, 05 November, 2014

Rosenberger, a manufacturer of connectivity products in the high-frequency and fibre-optic technology sectors, has signed a global distribution agreement with RS Components (RS) and Allied Electronics, the trading brands of Electrocomponents plc.

The alliance with RS and Allied is intended to enhance accessibility to the Rosenberger portfolio by making a vast range of their components available to purchase via the RS and Allied websites. “The decision to work with RS and Allied is part of a different tack to our existing strategy of dealing directly with customers,” said Dr rer nat Tosja Zywietz, chief strategy officer at Rosenberger.

“It makes sense for us to take advantage of a distribution partner that has been tried and tested in the IP&E market for many years, and that not only brings top-rate logistics expertise, but also has a forward-looking approach to customer service through its many e-commerce initiatives and online design resources. We see many opportunities for growth arising from this alliance.”

The Rosenberger products now stocked by RS and Allied include: RF coaxial connectors, RF test & measurement products, RF connectors for automotive electronics, medical and industrial electronics, and fibre-optic products. The distributor will continue to expand the range, and will support the launch of new products onto the market with immediate availability.

“The addition of the Rosenberger product line to our IP&E portfolio marks an important milestone in confirming RS and Allied as a major distributor for the top 10 global connector suppliers, and for the number one RF connector vendor,” said Kevin McCormack, global head of interconnect, passives and electromechanical at Electrocomponents. “The significance of this for customers is that they are assured of quick, easy access to the best, most innovative components on the market.”
