SmartKem wins Technical Development Materials Award
SmartKem, the developer of organic semiconductor materials for flexible electronics, has announced that its SmartKem p-FLEX product has won the Technical Development Materials Award at the recently held IDTechEx Printed Electronics Asia event.
The award recognises company innovation, success and development, and distinguishes the SmartKem p-FLEX product as the most significant technical advancement over the last 24 months in the field of material development. The award was judged by an international panel of experts within the field including professors from Brunel University and Kyung Hee University.

The product combines high-mobility, small-molecule materials with proprietary binder matrix materials to yield high-performance, solution-based semiconductors that have high charge carrier mobility, can be processed in air, are stable up to and above 250°C and are fully compatible with a range of print processes.
SmartKem designs, synthesises and supplies p-type organic semiconductors for manufacture of flexible display TFT backplanes.
