Three-year UPS contract

Friday, 11 June, 2010

Eaton Corporation has been awarded a three-year preferred supplier contract with Western Power.

Under the terms of the contract, Eaton will supply a range of uninterruptible power systems across 25 of the organisation’s remote locations where Western Power is currently conducting major IT upgrades to ensure business continuity during a disaster or crisis.

Western Power is also implementing a VoIP network for which it requires the support of a new generation of UPS infrastructure.

Specifically, the 9155 UPS, which operates at up to 20 kVA and provides eight hours of backup and premium, online power protection, will be deployed at 25 sites.

Other models include the EXRT, which will be deployed at 12 sites, and the 9355 UPS, which will be deployed at three sites. The rollout will be completed by the end of the year.
