Two design wins

Kontron has announced two design wins totalling US$41 million. One of the world's largest measurement technology companies will use Kontron technology for its EXT wireless communications test sets. Over the next five years, the new platform generation for the project will be based on the company's COM Express ETXe-CD modules and Intel Core 2 Duo chipsets. Full output will be reached in the first quarter of 2012.

The company is reporting the second design win in the defence and security/safety market. The order is worth US$17 million. Kontron will provide digital signal processing technology for one of the world's largest manufacturers of defence technology. The US military project involves products for aerospace deployment; with production scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2011.
