Indukey glass panel keyboards

Backplane has released Indukey’s glass panel keyboards and input devices offering users a functional data input device that can be customised.

The interfaces are capacitive touch keyboards with the sensors provided on a printed circuit board. The position of the sensors corresponds with the position of the keys or the key pads. Each custom layout of keys requires a new printed circuit board. The circuit board works like any capacitive touch product via contact with the electrical field above the sensor.

As a user-specific solution, the company offers user interfaces made of glass or high-strength plexiglass. The reason for this is the high aesthetic value coupled with the hygiene relevance - glass can be cleaned easily and completely. Another advantage of glass is that it is possible to add lighting effects. Plastic or other non-conductive materials can also be used.
