20th anniversary

Tuesday, 10 March, 2009

Backplane Systems Technology is 20 years old, having grown from a specialist company manufacturing custom backplanes for computer and telecommunications applications to an industrial computer and peripheral supplier representing some of the major international manufacturers including iBase Technology, Octagon Systems, Indukey Keyboard Production and Digital-Logic.

From small beginnings in an office in Chatswood run by two employees and a dog, the company has grown and moved through premises from Chatswood to Lane Cove, Berowra and now, Mt Kuring-gai, where there are currently 12 employees and three dogs! One of the founding directors remains with the company.

Over the 20 years the company has participated in many projects, including high-volume Y2K hardware supply throughout 1998/99, a number of ongoing defence projects and national infrastructure support projects.
