Industrial drives supply and license agreement

Friday, 30 January, 2009

Fuji Electric Device Technology and Semikron International have signed a supply and license agreement.

Fuji will supply IGBT semiconductor chips to Semikron and in return Semikron will supply Fuji with freewheeling and rectifier diode chips and module cases in spring contact technology.

Power modules with spring contacts will be manufactured by Fuji under licence.

Under this deal the two companies are forging the basis for mutual supply of power semiconductor chips. With the new freewheeling diodes and rectifier diode chips from Semikron and the IGBT chips from Fuji, both companies are expanding their product range to offer the optimum chip/module combination for a given application, using the same spring contact technology.
