The AEC-7450 is a standalone controller designed for long-life operation and high reliability in rugged environments.

It is designed to operate in temperatures ranging from -40 to 70 °C with an MTBF rating of 100,000 h at 30 °C ambient temperature and it can also withstand high vibrations up to 3G RMS when using an internal flash card drive for operating system storage.

The device is a fanless design based on the Pentium M 1.8 GHz processor with 1 GB of DDR SDRAM. An internal IDE or SATA hard drive or CompactFlash card can be used for system and data storage.

I/O support includes: 2x ethernet, 2x comm ports, 4x USB 2.0 ports, 1x parallel port, VGA and audio connectors.

An optional PC/104+ internal connector can be provided for system expansion. The device supports Windows XP Pro, XP Embedded and Linux (Red Hat) operating systems.

Its low power consumption and 9 to 30 VDC input power supply range allows the controller to be operated from almost any DC power source. An optional AC power adapter is also available.
