Artila Electronics has launched the SW-200M, a FreeRTOS-based serial-to-wireless LAN module. The product supports 2.4 GHz, IEEE 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and UART interface, which is designed to connect serial devices to the intranet/internet. The module provides a serial-to-embedded wireless solution with a compact PCB size of 40 x 45 mm and ultralow power consumption features.

The serial-to-Wi-Fi module supports serial, UART, SPI, I²C, PWM and GPIOs interfaces. It integrates a 32-bit ARM Cortex M3 processor with 2 MB Flash memory, 2.5 MB data memory, an SSL hardware accelerator and 802.11b/b/g compatible WLAN MAC/Baseband/RF. Featuring a secure and self-supporting Wi-Fi system, the product is easy to use with WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup), a web browser, a smartphone app and a window manager utility.

The product comes with the TCP/IP protocol suite running on-chip; therefore, it can serve as a network co-processor to offload TCP/IP and WLAN protocol processing loading from the system MCU in an embedded system. It is suitable for TCP/IP socket level applications such as TCP server and client control for remote appliance sensors, or wireless cable, web server and other remote I/O applications.

It has received certification from regulatory agencies in the US, Canada, Europe, China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Australia/New Zealand.
