Murata has launched a range of adjustable, non-isolated, point-of-load-alliance DC/DC converters.
The MPDTH series is available in 6, 10 and 15 A current ratings with nominal input voltages of 3.3, 5 or 12 VDC.
The modules are suitable for supplying POL power to devices such as ASICs, FPGAs and DSPs in a wide range of multi-processor digital systems in applications including datacoms, industrial and medical equipment.
A choice of both surface-mount and through-hole packages is available. Pinouts are identical with the through-hole version giving a slightly lower assembled height.
The series achieves a high power conversion efficiency and has an operating temperature range of -45 to +85°C. Output voltage ranges are 0.8 to 2.5 (3.3 in modules), 0.8 to 3.6 (5 in modules) and 1.2 to 5.5 (12 in modules).
Output voltages are adjustable and can be set by using a single external resistor.
Key features include auto-tracking, pre-bias immunity start-up support, on/off control and output trim functions.
Protection features include input undervoltage lockout, output short-circuit protection and output overcurrent and overtemperature protections.
