The GR53 and GR63 motors from Dunkermotor are DC commutator types with digital electronic regulation and control.

The motors have control electronics for four-quadrant drives built in as firmware in the motor, allowing precise speed control with a minimum of wiring.

As standard, the speed target input is provided by a voltage in the range 0 to +10. Two digital input signals determine whether rotation is to be clockwise or anti-clockwise and can block the controller and stop the motor with a holding moment.

Digital output information is available about faults in the motor or electronics. In addition, there is an output which provides 16 impulses per revolution of the motor.

The motors combine the advantages of conventional DC motors in compactness, high power density and robust design with those of digital control and regulation.

The GR53SI has an output of 40 or 60 W at nominal voltages from 12 to 40, and the output of the GR63SI is 50 or 100 W. Depending on the version, nominal torque is up to 17 Ncm for the GR53SI, and up to 29 Ncm for the GR63SI. The starting torque achieved is up to 140 or 210 Ncm.

The motors can be combined with a wide range of planetary and worm gears, encoders and brakes.
