The 4700 and 4800 series surface mount inductors from C&D Technologies offer design flexibility coupled with EMI protection.
The low profile, bobbin format, dual winding devices have a 1:1 winding ratio and can be connected in either series or parallel to give a range of inductance values.
Devices in the two new series are designed for use in power applications and are also suited to switchmode power supplies where the secondary coil can be used as a feedback winding.
Nominal inductance values for both the 4700 and 4800 series range from 1.0 to 400 µH (at 10 kHz and 100 mVAC).
Devices in the 4700 series handle a maximum continuous current of 9.5 A, while 4800 inductors have a rating of 12.3 A.
An integral EMI shield is a standard feature, making them suitable for designs where minimising electrical noise is important. In addition, power applications benefit from high levels of efficiency as a result of low maximum DC resistances.
These range from 4.8 to 686 milliohm for the 4700 series and 4.9 to 503 milliohm for the 4800 series. The operating temperature range is -40 to +85°C.
Available in a tape and reel format, the series is fully compatible with high-volume automated manufacturing systems.
