Kontron has released three embedded motherboards with 45 nm Core 2 Quad and Core2 Duo processors in the form factors Mini-ITX, Flex-ATX and ATX.
Based on the Mobile GM45 chipset, the Mini-ITX, Flex-ATX and ATX KTGM45 embedded motherboards offer good performance-per-watt ratio and interfaces such as PCI Express x16, without neglecting embedded designers’ needs.
They still carry four serial interfaces alongside the 12 USB 2.0 interfaces. The embedded motherboards also offer more PCB layers than conventional motherboards, to achieve good signal qualities and optimise electromagnetic compatibility.
The motherboards have a new feature — solid capacitors giving an extended lifetime.
The range of interfaces and top flexibility for connecting monitors via S-video, VGA, LVDS, DVI and HDMI make the boards suitable for computation-intensive visual computer systems in medical, automation, digital signage, security and video surveillance markets.
Graphic-intensive applications profit from the integrated DirectX10 graphics with shader model 4.0 for VGA and SDVO with DVI and HDMI via the PCI Express x16 slot.
Resolutions of up to 2048 x 1536 via CRT and 1920 x 1080 via LVDS enable direct input to full HD panels in native resolution.
They support all Intel processors with PGA 478 socket up to the 45 nm Core2 Duo T9400. With the Mobile 82GM45 graphics and memory controller hub and the I/O controller hub ICH9EM, they offer a low chipset TDP (14.5 W) as well as DDR3 RAM for embedded designs.
They also support active management technology (AMT 4.0) for remote management and easy maintenance.
