Backplane Systems has launched the AMI401 embedded system from iBASE that features a GM45 chipset-based MI945F mini-ITX motherboard, enabling support for the latest Intel Core2 Duo processors (Socket P type).

The board supports up to 4 GB DDR2 memory in two SO-DIMM modules.

For DVI output displays, it can be paired with the optional ID392 daughtercard. Assembled with MI945F, the AMI401 system has the GMA4500MHD graphics engine to support a VGA CRT.

It also includes 1x DVI output useful for applications requiring multi-displays. Custom outlets for the onboard 18/24-bit dual-channel LVDS signals can be accommodated.

Housed in a small, silver chassis, the device has a drive bay for 1x 2.5 SATA HDD and 1x PCI card expansion outlet.

The rear panel I/O interface with the MI945F board includes 1x PS/2 keyboard/mouse, 4x USB, dual GbE, plus VGA CRT and audio jacks.

Another 2x USB ports appear on the front panel, offering device connections. A 150 W power adapter and wall-mount kit are provided. The AMI401 system can also be configured with a range of iBASE’s other industrial mini-ITX motherboards.
