LG Electronics has unveiled what it claims is the first picture enhancing chip, the Flatron f Engine designed for LCD monitors.
The 'f' in Flatron f Engine represents 'fine' - fine colour, fine imaging and fine viewing to enhance picture quality in LCD monitors.
The device incorporates DAFI (digital adaptive fine image) technology, a brightness and contrast enhancer, for crisper, sharper images. This uses an RCM (real colour management) function that enables the expression of natural colours, and an ACE (adaptive colour and contrast enhancement) capability that improves contrast and brightness.
