Maxim 2769B/2670 GNSS amp/receiver range
Maxim has introduced the 2769B and 2670, next-generation devices specifically designed to address global navigation satellite system (GNSS) applications.
These receivers can operate over the navigation standards GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and Compass and have completed PPAP and AEC-Q100 approval.
The 2670 is a dual-stage, low-noise amplifier typically located in or close to the antenna module, while the 2769B resides within the dashboard as the receiver. The 2769B is claimed to have the industry’s lowest noise figure of 1.4 dB.
The 2670 is a versatile design that allows external filtering between first and second stages, providing flexibility for system optimisation. Its high integration eliminates discrete transistor solutions.
The 2769B and 2670 are designed on the company’s low-power SiGe BiCMOS process that is compatible with virtually all GNSS baseband hardware and GNSS software-based receiver designs.
The 2769B eliminates the need for external IF filters by implementing on-chip monolithic filters and requires few external components to implement a low-cost GNSS RF receiver. Its integrated ADC, which is programmable from 1 to 3 bits, makes it highly configurable and said to be the most flexible receiver available.
