MEN has extended its 3U CompactPCI by another single board computer, the F11S, claimed to be the first CompactPCI board with both Intel Atom and FPGA.
The processor of up to 1.6 GHz has up to 2 GB DDR2 SDRAM; 2 MB SRAM, CompactFlash, MicroSD slot; VGA, two USB, PS/2, one UART; 1 gigabit and 1 fast ethernet.
The FPGA gives additional user-defined functions; -40 up to +85°C screened or with qualified components; unique combination of Atom and FPGA on CompactPCI.
The board can be equipped with different versions of the Atom XL processors, which offer a maximum power dissipation of 7 W at a speed of up to 1.6 GHz.
The FPGA allows the implementation of serial interfaces, CAN bus, binary I/O, protocol converters or touch controllers. In addition, up to three SA-adapters for additional I/O can be placed on the F11S. Depending on the number of adapters, the card occupies 8 or 12 hp in the system.
