Maxon Motor's DECV 50/5 is a compact, digital four-quadrant speed controller for brushless DC motors of up to 250 W.
Input voltage ranges from 12-50 DC.
The controller allows four-quadrant operation for EC motors with Hall sensors using simple settings. The control device is designed for 5 A in continuous operation (up to 10 A intermittently).
The PI controller (not suitable as position controller) makes the amplifier suitable for uncomplicated usage. The motor can be constantly monitored for speed and current using the analog monitor outputs.
The internal production of motor link circuit voltage minimises the current ripple in the motor cables and prevents the motor from overheating, particularly a low-impedance one. These characteristics make the controller suitable for high-speed motor control and allow it a broad range of applications, such as power tools (high-speed drills, cutters etc). No additional motor chokes are necessary for operation.
