NEC LCD Technologies has introduced a 22.5" TFT LCD module with wide ultra-extended graphics array (WUXGA) resolution.
The module boasts good picture quality, suitable for preview monitoring and verification use in broadcast stations and post-production studios due to full high-definition (1920 x 1080) resolution, high luminance of 460 cd/m2, a wide colour gamut of 97% (NTSC ratio) and a double frame rate of 120 Hz to improve motion picture performance.
In addition, a 10-bit source driver enables the module to provide 1025 greyscale steps per each of the primary colours (RGB), thus realising 1073 million colours per pixel.
The module attains a higher colour resolution than specified by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) standard.
