Osram SPL DP90_3 infrared laser for short-range LiDAR applications

Wednesday, 05 February, 2020 | Supplied by: Osram Australia Pty Ltd

Osram’s SPL DP90_3 has been developed for high-resolution, near-field detection in LiDAR systems, for use in autonomous vehicles. It is a single-channel pulsed laser that features good beam quality and compact dimensions.

Due to its space-saving footprint of 0.3 x 0.6 mm, system manufacturers can create compact designs. Efficiency of around 30% should help reduce the overall cost of the system during operation. With an optical output of 65 W at 20 A, the component is suitable for capturing the immediate vehicle surroundings, ensuring high-resolution images for subsequent systems.
