Panel potentiometer

Vishay has released a low-cost, long-life panel potentiometer with a low-temperature coefficient down to ±150 ppm/°C and 9.6 mm size.

While standard low-cost panel potentiometers reach 50,000 cycles, this device is claimed to offer a long life of 500,000 cycles.

Featuring a fully sealed IP67 package with pure Sn terminals, the potentiometer is intended for control panel, low-cost actuation proportional pedal and illumination applications in toys, hospital bed audio systems, air-conditioning controls, portable heater controls, simple tool machines and dimmers.

With its 9.6 mm size, the device has a cermet element for better stability while its 1000 VRMS dielectric strength offers reliability and robustness.

The device features a plastic shaft and bushing, with custom shafts available.

There are four resistance values from 1 to 50 KΩ, with a low 1% typical contact resistance variation.
