PC1600 programmable controllers

OEM Technology Solutions has released the PC1600 series of programmable controllers that offer good functionality for industrial applications. The series has an extensive range of I/O, communication ports, data storage and data manipulation capabilities and has been designed to operate in tough industrial environments such as: remote environmental monitoring; SCADA systems; energy management and control; data and event logging; distributed control systems; transport control and monitoring.

The series can be programmed in any of the IEC61131-3 languages and also incorporates 32 MB flash memory for data and event logging.

The series is available as: PC1600 – board only; PC1610 – enclosed version (in anodised aluminium enclosure); PC1620 – enclosed version with LCD.

The controller hardware features include a real-time clock, battery packed RAM, 16 x digital inputs, 6 x 12-bit A/D inputs, 3 x universal inputs (configurable as digital or analog inputs), 18 x FET digital outputs, ethernet (10/100 Mbps), R232 and RS485 serial communications ports. In addition, the user can program the in-built 4-line x 20-character LCD (PC1620 model only) and seven-key keypad.

The in-built software allows users to FTP configure files to the series, and retrieve time and date-stamped data log and event log files via FTP. There are standard function blocks available to generate these logs and the series also supports the Modbus master and slave protocol (both TCP and serial). This allows the series to connect to SCADA and HMI packages, and to interrogate smart devices such as energy meters and remote I/O modules.

The controllers give more flexibility to tailor to specific needs. They are rail hardened and meet rail compliance standards but can be used across myriad applications and industries. They have an operational temperature range of -20 to +70°C.

The controllers have an option of an industrial 3G mobile modem, making them suitable for remote monitoring, control and data logging.
