Recom DC/DC power converters

Recom has released what it claims is a first with a 20 to 50 W power range of DC/DC converters.

The PowerlinePlus series is the first to incorporate the company’s ICE technology - innovation in converter excellence - a combination of techniques to minimise internal heat dissipation and maximise the heat transfer to ambient to create a series that offers high-end performance.

The converters are said to be one of the most efficient DC/DC modules and are suitable for military, avionics and high-end industrial applications with a case temperature operating range of -45 to +120 °C, built-in class B EMC filters and fully protected outputs. The devices combine a high-efficiency design with an integrated heat sink case to deliver more power over a wider temperature range while requiring less space.

The main features include: case temperature operating range of -45 to +120 °C; ambient temperature range up to +100 °C (natural convection); guaranteed start-up at -45 °C ambient; built-in FCC/EN55022 class B EMC filter (no external components required); high efficiency and low stand-by current; six-sided shielded enclosure with integrated heat sink; high galvanic isolation of up to 3 kVDC; fully protected outputs; industry standard pin-outs.

The series consists of six modules.
