Microchip Technology has announced the first seven next-generation 16-bit dsPIC digital signal controllers for common, multi-loop switchmode power supplies (SMPSs) and other power-conversion applications.
The devices for digital power conversion provide up to twice the performance a lower price than the company’s first SMPS family.
They feature an ‘intelligent power peripheral’ that includes interconnected analog comparators, pulse-width modulators and analog-to-digital converters that are specialised for digital power applications and can be software conditioned to adapt to a variety of topologies.
