Switch sealer

APM Hexseal has released its IQ (installs quickly) range of sealing boots.

This generation of toggle and push-button-type switch and circuit breaker sealing boots is designed for fast retrofitting on existing control panels.

The heart of this new sealing system is a mounting technique: the Concentro-Nut. It features an integral, bonded, concentric, aluminium nut that screws directly onto and completely surrounds the existing front-panel switch bushing nut.

It also speeds up the mounting time on original equipment assembly.

The series provides protection to NEMA4X and IEC IP66/68 against salt spray, ice build-up, sand, dust, dirt, sunlight, ozone, fungus and most solvents and lubricants or virtually any potential contaminant that can invade the equipment housing.

The design fits most switch/breaker brands with a 15/32-32 bushing, requiring a 24.7 mm boot height. Its round base results in a sleek, modern control panel design.

Offered in standard black or silicone rubber, the company will also colour-match panel colour or to denote control function.

No O-rings, washers or adhesives are needed because the IQ boot design also includes a sealing rib that creates a vacuum seal around the mounting hole.
