National Instruments has announced the NI 9213 thermocouple module that adds high-density measurements to the C series platform.
Using the device, engineers can create a compact, modular acquisition system to collect data from up to 16 independent thermocouples and has a sampling rate of 75 S/s per channel.
Because of the flexibility of the C series platform, engineers can use the module in new or existing applications. Like other C series modules, it can be deployed as a quick measurement desktop data acquisition device with the USB-9162 single module or CompactDAQ eight-module carriers.
The 9213 can be used in a remote measurement system over an ethernet or Wi-Fi connection with the WLS-9163 wireless C series single module carrier or as part of an embedded measurement and control system in CompactRIO hardware.
With multiple 9213 modules in one chassis, CompactDAQ and CompactRIO can support up to 128 channels of thermocouple measurement in a single system.
All 50 of the C series I/O modules are designed as self-contained measurement modules, with the circuitry required for the specific measurement contained in the module itself. Analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion occurs in the module before the data reaches the chassis.
Engineers can use the majority of C series I/O modules in the CompactDAQ and CompactRIO measurement platforms or in remote applications.
The device can also be combined with a variety of other C series modules that take measurements such as acceleration, voltage, current, pressure and digital I/O.
