Thorlabs MTD1020T OEM temperature controller

Thorlabs has announced the release of an OEM-grade TEC driver for stable temperature control, the MTD1020T. The completely integrated digital temperature controller module can provide output currents up to ±2A and support a maximum TEC compliance voltage of 10 V.

Incorporating a true bipolar 20 W power stage and digital PID temperature control loop, the controller enables high efficiency and fast temperature control. A digital UART/RS232-compatible programming interface allows quick and seamless access to the internal control settings.

The TEC driver supports the widely used industry-standard 10 kΩ NTC thermistors. Along with the internal analog filter and amplification circuit, high-precision temperature stabilisation down to 10 mK is achieved over 8 h.

Measuring 21 x 27 x 10.3 mm (16 mm with the pins), the low-profile, 16-pin controller is housed in a through-hole technology (THT) package with a topside-integrated heat sink for good thermal performance. The device operates in ambient temperatures ranging from -20 to 60°C.

On request, Thorlabs can deliver customised versions of the controller in high quantities, with short lead times, packaged in production-capable IC tubes.
