Analogic has introduced the fast DBS 908, a 2 GigaSample/second waveform digitiser, plug-in module for the VXI-compliant DBS 9905 carrier module.
The compact mezzanine board concept allows a single VXI chassis slot to provide multiple functions, maximising VXI resources and decreasing the cost per slot - up to two DBS 908s can be installed in a single DBS 9905 carrier module.
The use of two instruments in a single slot provides a combination of speed, resolution and size.
With a broad sampling rate range of 100 S/s to 2 GS/s, coupled with an input bandwidth of DC to 500 MHz (-3 dB), 8-bit resolution and 4 MegaSample onboard memory (16 M optional), the DBS 908 can be used in telecommunications, magnetic media, automotive, spectroscopy, computing, particle physics, military, explosive-weapons and ballistics testing.
The user-programmable front-end further optimises the digitiser's performance for other applications.
The digitiser has flexible trigger and clock selections, the parameters of which can be specifically defined through software, and two modes of acquisition.
For applications requiring pre- or post-trigger delays, adjustment from 0% to 100% of the acquisition frame can be programmed.
Waveforms can be captured using a single trigger event to enable storage of data in memory or, conversely, memory can be segmented and data stored based on a series of successive triggers.
