Digi International has introduced NET+OS 7.4, the latest version of its royalty-free software platform for network-enabled embedded system development.

It features Wi-Fi protected set-up to make security in embedded products simple to configure and easy to deploy and was created by Wi-Fi Alliance to enable secure establishment of wireless networks.

WPS automatically configures the WPA and WPA2 parameters for secure establishment of wireless networks. Embedded developers can now provide WPS configuration in their wireless embedded products using any company embedded wireless module.

It is suitable for environments where strong wireless security and data integrity is required, such as in medical devices to protect patient information or to protect the transfer of financial data in retail and gaming applications.

It is also suitable for developing secure wireless embedded products and provides a turnkey solution specifically designed and optimised for the company’s NET+ARM processors and embedded modules.

In addition to WPS, NET+OS 7.4 includes a royalty-free distribution of ThreadX real-time operating system (RTOS).
