Interworld Electronics ETH-DIO Series 48-line ethernet digital I/O board

Interworld Electronics has released the ETH-DIO Series 48-line ethernet digital I/O board. The series features 48 or 24 industrial-strength, high-current TTL digital I/O lines that can be remotely connected to any ethernet network.

Each I/O line is buffered and capable of sourcing 32 mA or sinking 64 mA. Jumper selected resistors permit user configuration of I/O lines for pull-up (to 5 VDC), pull-down (to ground) or floating depending on the application requirements.

Connections to the board are made via industry-standard, 50-pin IDC-type headers. Each header has three 8-bit I/O ports that can be programmed to accept inputs or drive outputs. For external circuits, 0.5 A fused 5 VDC power is available at pin 49 of each I/O connector.

The inputs can sense switch closures or digital logic states, while the outputs can control external relays, driving indicator lights and more. The series is suitable for adding portable, easy-to-install, digital I/O to any ethernet network. Applications include laboratory monitoring and control, home or industrial automation and embedded OEM solutions.

The modules are designed to be used in rugged industrial environments but are small enough to fit onto any desk or testing station. DIN-rail mounting is available.
