Data acquisition system

Heim Systems has developed a flexible, compact distributed data acquisition system, DATaRec 4, that consists of interface modules that can be positioned up to 10 m from each other, or mechanically linked to make a compact acquisition unit.

There are eight channels per module, with the exception of one module which has 24.

This modular concept allows applications for low channel count or those with several hundred channels.

The signal modules provide interfaces for most common transducer types including: voltage, charge, ICP, rpm, microphone, CAN-bus; others on request.

Sound, vibration, strain, temperature are examples of signals that can be recorded. Dynamic range is 110 dB.

The link module performs the central data handling function. The storage module allows local storage of data or forms a compact standalone data recording system. This module can be fitted with a tape drive, hard disk, solid state or PCMCIA CompactFlash.

There are three ways of data transfer to PC: IEEE 1394B (FireWire), USB 2.0 or Gb ethernet (10/100/1000 Base1).
