The Vanguard 3G broadband router provides wide-area CDMA or GSM cellular connectivity optimised for high-speed, mobile environments with demanding data requirements.

Access to information and field communications are significant factors in the safety and effectiveness of field workers.

With the router, problems such as complex messages, congested voice communication and limited human resources are addressed by delivering a robust technology that facilitates fast and reliable despatch of work crews, especially during emergencies.

The router incorporates a sensitive 16-channel GPS receiver and an algorithm that offers good receive sensitivity and improved accuracy, integrity and availability of GPS signals.

An optional built in Wi-Fi access point allows tethered devices to remain connected even when leaving the vehicle. CDMA models use high-speed EV-DO Rev A to provide data access at speeds up to 3.1 Mbps with backward compatibility to EV-DO Rev 0 and CDMA 1x technology.

GSM models use high-speed HSUPA technology to provide data access at speeds up to 7.2 Mbps with backward compatibility to HSDPA, UMTS, EDGE and GPRS.

Serial and ethernet interfaces simplify deployment and ease technology migration. With I/O capabilities, users can run several other devices and applications. The device also features secure, remote management with password-protected configuration for upgrades and maintenance, including AES, WEP and TKIP.
