Toshiba MD03ACA-V hard disk drives for surveillance applications

Thursday, 22 May, 2014 | Supplied by: Toshiba (Australia) Pty Ltd

Toshiba’s Semiconductor & Storage Products Company has launched the MD03ACA-V series high-capacity hard disk drives (HDDs) for surveillance applications. The 3.5″ HDDs are available in capacities up to 4 TB. The 6 Gbps SATA drives spin at 7200 rpm and support the industry-standard 512 B sector lengths with rotational vibration (RV) compensation to keep performance under multiple HDD configuration, making the series suitable for customers looking for 24/7 video surveillance storage.

The robust design provides storage to various video recorders, including surveillance digital video recorders (SDVR), surveillance network video recorders (SNVR) and hybrid SDVR, delivering 24/7 operation with a mean time to failure (MTTF) of 1 million hours. The series supports high-resolution data streams and addresses the need for long surveillance video retention periods, multistreaming capabilities, wide temperature resistance and uninterrupted write applications.
