The USB to infrared adapter (UIR-120) from Comsol plugs into a standard USB socket. The device comes with driver software and USB extension cable.

Because the UIR-120 adapter is a standard IrDA port, it is capable of 'talking' to many mobile devices as long as they meet the same infrared standard and provide software for connection to a PC via IrDA port.

By using the adapter and the appropriate software, a PDA or mobile phone's contact book or calendar can be edited and cordlessly synchronised to Outlook or Contact software.

The same device can also be used to perform wireless file transfer between a notebook and a desktop PC, HotSync to a Palm Pilot, or to download image files from a digital camera.

The UIR-120 is fully compatible with IrDA 1.1 and USB 1.1 specifications and compatible with FIR 4 Mbps, MIR, SIR and ASK 56 Kbps. It requires no external power supply and supports Windows 98, Me, 2000 and XP.
