ICP Electronics Australia has launched the ICP DAS ECAN-240-FD gateway. This Ethernet device acts as a conduit, transforming a Modbus TCP to a 2-port CAN FD (CAN with Flexible Data-Rate) Gateway, effectively bridging conventional industrial protocols with IoT capabilities.

Adhering to the ISO 11898-2 standard, the gateway integrates with both CAN specification 2.0 A/B and the FD. It can also toggle between ISO and Non-ISO (Bosch) standards. With bit rates ranging from 10 Kbps to 10000 Kbps, it provides versatile communication across varied applications. The hardware’s built-in DIP-switch and two CAN bus interfaces, leveraging a 9-pin D-sub connector, underscore its adaptability.

Offering web configuration, Modbus TCP Server function and transparent TCP/UDP to CAN communication, the device is designed to provide an intuitive user experience. Additionally, its UDP responder aids swift device discovery, while its static IP or DHCP network configuration provides a secure connection.
