The latest generation of Schaffner ECOsine broadband passive harmonic filters provides a much better use of the power capacity of distribution transformers and networks to increase efficiency to either allow more nonlinear load to be connected to the same system or postpone upgrades to the system capacity.

Downsizing conductors, fuses and circuit breakers is also possible.

The IP20-rated FN3410/3412 series features lightweight and compact dimensions.

Other benefits are that they can be applied to virtually any kind of diode or SCR six pulse rectifier, variable-speed motor drive, UPS, electronic welder, battery charger or elevator system to increase equipment reliability and service life.

An electronic control interface allows thermal control and fast plug-and-play operation, remote monitoring for HVAC installations, heavy industry, oil and gas exploration and mining, as well as water and wastewater treatment and pumping systems.

The total harmonic current distortion is less than 5% at full load while the design MTBF is 200,000 h. Standard current and voltage ratings are catered for as well as custom solutions.
